50mm Lens Meetup

The 50mm lens is one of the flexible and useful lenses in any photographers gear bag. It is neither a wide-angle or telephoto lens, but allows the camera to see on the same scale as your eye. As such, it can be used for a variety of styles, from landscape and street photography to portrait and product photography. In this meetup, well review the basic camera settings. Well then cover some of the advantages of shooting with a prime lens, and some basic techniques to using the 50mm lens. As always, there will be ample opportunities for you to put your new knowledge into practice. Rossmoor Gateway Patio, Redwood Room

 

Angles and Views

In this session we'll be looking at how we can challenge ourselves to find new viewpoints and perspectives when out with our camera, and how different angles can tell different photographic stories.
Finding strong landscape compositions using Angles and Point of View.
We will be looking for Shapes and Textures as well. Blackhawk Plaza, Danville (Behring’s) Car Museum & Plaza, Buddhist Temple - Danville

 

Rule of Thirds

One of the most basic tenets of composition is the Rule of Thirds. Although most people are familiar with this technique it is often forgotten in the haste to take a photo. However, you ignore it at your peril as it can make an average snap into something which is has tension and dynamism.

In this meetup we will practice using the Rule of Thirds in a setting full of photographic possibility. A Monday at the Rossmoor Golf Course

 

Bay Views

Join us for an immersive photography session exploring the stunning Bay Area -Bay views - Emeryville. Capture the beauty of Bay and interesting water landscapes while honing your skills with fellow photography enthusiasts.

Architectural photography can be a great way of exploring and documenting a city, whether it's your home or on holiday. It’s about capturing not only the design and accurate representation of a building, but to have the shots be aesthetically pleasing to the viewer's eye.

Panoramic photography is a technique of photography, using specialized equipment or software, that captures images with horizontally elongated fields of view. It is sometimes known as wide format photography.
